Position Details

The University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time, tenure stream faculty position in the Department of Periodontics and Preventive Dentistry. Faculty rank of assistant or associate professor will depend on experience and qualifications. We are seeking an outstanding individual with strong commitment to predoctoral and graduate clinical education, scholarship and service. Candidates should have a D.D.S. or equivalent degree and advanced training in periodontics. A record of teaching and clinical experience is preferred. The department desires individuals who are clinical scholars with special emphasis on clinical research, interdisciplinary education and care with other specialty areas such as prosthodontics, orthodontics and endodontics. Responsibilities will include didactic and clinical instruction of dental students, dental hygiene students and graduate periodontics residents, scholarly activity and service. Collaborative research opportunities exist within the department and at the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration. Intermural practice is also available. Salary and level of academic appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
