Position Details

The Department of Health and Policy & Management, Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh is seeking a faculty member at rank of Advanced Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, with demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and leadership in academic programs. Candidates with training in health services management, health administration, business, or organizational studies are encouraged to apply. Experience in health care management is desirable. Candidates should have demonstrated potential for publishing and competing for external funding. Research and teaching emphasis in the following areas will be particularly valued: (1) health care management; (2) health policy; (3) organizational theory/organizational behavior; or (4) patient safety and quality of care. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in the Master’s in Health Administration program including curriculum development, accreditation, and overseeing student professional development experiences. Strong teaching skills are required. The Department of Health Policy & Management resides in the Graduate School of Public Health, a planned Masters of Science in Health Services Research and Policy (2014 launch) and a PhD in Health Services Research and Policy. Faculty research programs concentrate on long term care, pharmaceutical policy, health care financing, reimbursement, decision sciences, cost effectiveness analysis and many other health policy areas.
