Position Description

Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining, preserving and enhancing the University’s physical assets. Core services include building and ground maintenance and custodial services to ensure a safe, functional and attractive campus environment. Facilities Management also provides professional engineering, architectural and construction management services to the Pittsburgh campus and to Pitt’s Bradford, Greensburg, Johnstown and Titusville campuses.

The University of Pittsburgh Facilities Management Technical Services department is seeking an Administrative Assistant. The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Manager and staff of Technical Services in the Planning Department. The job duties for this position include scanning and editing files, process requests with University Printing, edit PowerPoint presentations, and organizing and maintaining project archive files.

This is a project based role and the length of your assignment is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to project workload.

Education Required High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Related Experience Level Required 2-3 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

High School diploma or diploma from a certified Business School or Computer School. Knowledge of technical terminology is beneficial.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
