The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a qualified candidate for the Quality Assurance/Data Assistant.

The incumbent will assist in maintaining records and data pertaining to clinical research and will be responsible for the coordination of data collection from various sources to complete case report forms and the transmission of data for subjects enrolled in clinical trials. The incumbent will review medical records, interpret data, transcribe information, and conduct quality control for study forms.

The individual will assist the Senior Quality Assurance/Data Coordinator with quality assurance activities by reviewing study records to identify data collection errors, report trends that require corrective actions, and assist in the implementation of plans to maintain quality data. This position requires a highly detail oriented, independent and organized individual with the ability to analyze complex research study protocols. This individual resolves unique data issues through routine correspondence with external contacts and answers statistician-driven queries.

The work done by this individual will be monitored closely by external review agencies and errors may directly impact unit funding.

An Associate’s degree is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience with clinical research is desirable. Incumbent must be able to interact professionally with potential subjects and staff and have strong ethical standards. The position will require flexibility with shift/hours. This position is located at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Lawrenceville. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.
