Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh‘s Clinical and Translational Science Institute is seeking an Executive Director of Recruitment for the All of Us Pennsylvania Research Program ( The Executive Director creates an ecosystem of activities to promote professional partnerships that will result in participant recruitment and retention in the All of US Pennsylvania Research Program.

The Executive Director for Recruitment will work to establish, nurture, and maintain partnership relationships with healthcare facilities and physicians’ offices throughout Pennsylvania, build a strong rapport with clinical partners, and present persuasive information to promote referrals to the All of Us Pennsylvania Research Program. The incumbent will evaluate current efforts and make recommendations to improve current processes while implementing new programs. In addition, the incumbent develops, implements, and manages innovative comprehensive recruitment strategies that primarily focus on participant engagement through clinical partners and will establish performance metrics. Candidate and participant communications, activities and performance results will be tracked and monitored to ensure regulatory compliance and to meet performance milestones.

The All of Us Executive Director of Recruitment will be a collaborative and performance-focused individual who is an excellent manager and confident communicator. He/she will work across teams, will think through challenges methodically and will strive for continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and meeting critical deadlines.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in sales or marketing or a science degree in a healthcare related field with sales and marketing experience. Strong interpersonal communication skills are a must.

Master’s Degree. Commensurate level of education experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
10+ years of experience in a medical or research-related field, preferably involving marketing or sales, in an intermediate or senior level professional and/or administrative position

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
