Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Senior Financial Management Consultant for the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence Department. This position reports to the Director of the Small Business Development Center.

The incumbent will provide business consulting services to existing and start-up businesses. The services include: strategic analysis of functional areas of a business, analysis of management capabilities, development of plans, research and analysis for financing, income, cash flow and projections, as well as conducting market research of existing and potential markets. Candidate should have a strong background in marketing and sales.

In addition, the candidate will develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and other economic development agencies in order to heighten the profile of the SBDC, IEE, the Innovation Institute and the University of Pittsburgh. This may include attending networking functions and conducting presentations including business seminars.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 5-6 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

BA/BS required. MBA preferred.

3 years of increasing business experience. 3 years of direct consulting with entrepreneurial ventures or 5 years of
experience with an economic development organization or 5 years of banking

Strong understanding and knowledge of financial statements, projections, and cash flow analysis are required.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
