Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Research Manager to support the research group of Dr. Warren Shlomchik. Dr. Shlomchik’s lab studies the immunology of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT), including graft-versus-host-disease (GVHD), graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) and immune reconstitution with a goal of rapidly translating this research into clinical applications.

The Research Manager will participate in developing adoptive T cell immunotherapies directed against transplantation antigens that are expressed only by blood cells in humans. This will be done through both vaccination and the building of a library of relevant T cell receptors.

This position will primarily work with human tissue and cellular samples, presenting a unique opportunity to significantly and rapidly contribute to the development of novel therapeutics in the increasingly prominent field of immunotherapy.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

PhD preferred. Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology or Immunology with at least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
