Position Description

The Department of Pharmacy & Therapeutics is seeking a Training Coordinator who will report directly to the SBIRT Program Director of the Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU). PERU is dedicated to meaningful research and its contribution to a health system that facilitates a patient’s ability to achieve optimal health and well-being.

The Training Coordinator will have responsibility for designing, implementing and executing the Screening, Brief Interventions, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) training programs for students in health professions. The Training Coordinator will have the primary responsibility of designing and implementing program content and materials to support the curriculum and making recommendations on content and/or the direction of the overall program. The Training Coordinator will design and establish metrics for which to measure and evaluate the success of the training programs, utilizing metrics to identify opportunities for enhancements.

As well, the Training Coordinator will be the lead person to conduct training and direct curricula implementation, which includes performing evaluations of training and acting as the primary liaison to external stakeholders as it pertains to delivering the training. The position requires the incumbent to work in a highly independent manner and to work with a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Master’s Degree in Public and/or Behavioral Health or a related field, with relevant experience is required. Experience in developing and conducting training programs is strongly preferred. Experience in substance abuse prevention is preferred. Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, statistical software programs, and web platforms is desired.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
