A federally funded research project, within the University of Pittsburgh School of Medical, seeks an hourly student worker with good speaking skills to record narration, in digital audio files, for use in an online intervention to increase physical activity and reduce sedentary behavior.
A successful candidate for this position will need good speaking skills for narration (clarity, diction, enunciation). Previous radio or recording work is preferred, but not required. Communications and theatre students are encouraged to apply. The quality of a narration recording during the interview process will be the main selection criteria for the job.

Responsibilities – 100% Recording narrations

• Recordings of pre-scripted narrations will be performed at an on campus audio recording booth.
• The successful applicant will be expected to work with the principle investigator and research team to produce high quality audio recordings.
• This is a temporary position, recordings are expected to take less than 40 hours to complete and will need to be completed over several weeks.

Job Requirements

This position is open to undergraduate students. Students applying for this internship should have previous experience and/or training in theatre, communications, radio, or audio recording work. A successful applicant will need good speaking skills for narration (clarity, diction, enunciation). All applicants must consent to and perform a recording of a short narration during the interview process for review.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work with project investigators to ensure high quality audio recordings.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

An ideal candidate for this position will begin in March or April 2018. Completion of recordings is anticipated to take several weeks.
