Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Academic Pediatrics (GAP), is currently recruiting a biostatistician to provide statistical support to investigators conducting clinical trials and research studies. The incumbent should be knowledgeable and independent in the following skills:

- calculating sample size/statistical power
- developing randomization lists
- maintaining and assuring data accuracy and consistency
- developing the analysis plan with the statistical team
- developing analytic data sets
- performing statistical analyses
- participating in the preparation of manuscripts
- consulting with clinical investigators
- posting result summaries and data to

TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 5-6 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

A Master’s degree in Statistics or Biostatistics is required. Previous work in the field of clinical trials is desirable. A minimum of five years of related experience is required.

A background in statistical computing, a strong working knowledge of the statistical package, SAS, and familiarity with sample size software and other statistical packages are essential.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
