Position Description

The Office of the University Registrar is dedicated to providing the highest levels of student, faculty, and staff service and maintaining the highest level of academic records integrity and security. The department is currently seeking a qualified Secretary/Receptionist in the Administration area.

This position will provide a wide variety of administrative, secretarial, & special tasks for the University Registrar Senior Administrative staff and Supervisors through coordinating and scheduling meeting activities. Frequent contact is made with various academic and administrative units, including the Office of the Provost, as well as deans’ and directors’ and departmental Chairs, by phone, fax, and e-mail to schedule meetings and to convey information. The incumbent will handle some travel arrangements and catering events and will assist with departmental procurement. Highly confidential information is also handled in this position.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

An Associate’s degree, Business school certificate or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable department. Advanced PC skills are required, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience using Internet Explorer.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
