Position Description

This position covers challenging and responsible secretarial, clerical, and administrative support work in the Department of Epidemiology. The incumbent will provide secretarial services for several research projects and be responsible for relieving supervisors of considerable administrative detail. Duties include the following:

- receiving, screening, and directing calls, visitors and mail
- making travel arrangements for project personnel
- maintaining appointment calendar for the principal investigator
- typing and processing materials and correspondence
- organizing filing systems
- preparing research reports
- responding quickly to the needs of the projects

Education Required High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Related Experience Level Required 2-3 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Excellent secretarial ability needed; requires knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar, office management, systems and equipment; requires knowledge of travel arrangements and meeting coordination.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
