Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Police Officer. Responsibilities include ensuring public safety in a multi-cultural environment in the third largest police department in Allegheny
County. Police Officer duties include vehicular and foot patrol of University property, enforcement of criminal and traffic laws; protection of persons and property; investigation of crimes; completion of police reports; testimony in court; and assistance to other law enforcement agencies. Qualifications include: Bachelors degree in criminal justice or another related field from an accredited college or University and must have obtained Pennsylvania Act 120 certification prior to appointment; possess a valid PA driver’s license; as well as a safe driving record.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and ACT 120 Certified. Valid Pennsylvania , Drivers License.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
