Position Description

The Falk Library is seeking a qualified Library Specialist. The incumbent will staff the Technology Help Desk and provide assistance with library-based technology, including resolving technology issues, circulating Technology Help Desk equipment, and directing patrons to the proper resources. In this position, the incumbent must demonstrate effective team collaboration and keep up-to-date with current technology and related practices. The Technology Help Desk team provides support to library patrons for web-based and desktop programs on both Windows and Mac OS platforms. This position also assists HSLS faculty and staff on a one-on-one basis with their library-based technology needs. This incumbent must be service-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be proficient with common desktop applications.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 1-2 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Successful customer service experience; proficiency with web-based and desktop programs. Previous university and/or library experience is desirable.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
