Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Research Data Analyst for the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of the Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU). The position requires the incumbent to work in a highly independent manner. The incumbent will be responsible for working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team on PERU projects. The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the design of research studies and data analyses
• Performing complex data analysis
• Meticulously interpreting data for reports and manuscripts
• Interfacing with outside organizations on requesting and obtaining data as well as collaborating on statistical analysis
• Maintaining the integrity of collected data by developing methodologies for quality control
• Developing databases and respective data dictionaries
• Coordinating data collection instruments and providing input into their design
• Assisting in grant preparation by creating graphs and tabular representations of data
• Writing highly scientific and technical manuscripts

The incumbent must possess strong analytical skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 2-3 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Master’s degree and 2-3 years experience working in a research environment/with research data is required. Experience with standard statistical programs, such as SPSS, SAS, STATA, Excel, is required.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
