Position Description

The Administrative Director (AD) will serve in an advanced leadership role under the direction of the Division Administrator to assist with the development and implementation of the strategic initiatives across three Divisions: Endocrinology, Geriatrics and Infectious Diseases and across two organizations: the University of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Physicians (UPP).

A major focus will be on research fiscal administration and operations while monitoring Division operating revenue and expenses to budget. On the clinical side of the Divisions, the AD will be actively involved in the development, implementation, and cost-effectiveness of specialty programs and services such as Geriatrics Long-Term Care and Telemedicine services. The AD will act as the on-site administrative director managing the daily operations for the Division of Endocrinology. The AD must have experience in preparing and analyzing complex financial data for proposals and strategic initiatives. The AD will also be responsible for all space inventory and management. The AD will provide supervision to staff and will be responsible for all management actions such as recruitment, performance reviews, coaching, and counseling for performance improvement and if necessary, termination. The AD must be flexible with workflow to adjust to competing priorities.

May consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. At least 5- 6 years of experience in an intermediate or senior level professional position. Accounting, budgeting and managerial skills required. Must be proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
