Position Details

The Department of Biostatistics in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh seeks applicants for a faculty position with primary responsibility for providing leadership in development and delivery of school core curriculum in biostatistics. The position may be at the assistant or associate professor level (non-tenure track), to begin in fall 2018 or earlier. We seek outstanding individuals with a strong commitment to education and possible collaborative research. Responsibilities for this position will include providing leadership within the department and school on introductory biostatistics curriculum, participating at the national level in biostatistics education forums, teaching up to two courses per semester, and working on collaborative projects in the public health/medical setting.

Application Process

A doctorate in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related field is required. This position is open to new PhDs, postdoctoral fellows as well as more experienced candidates. The rank and salary will be determined by the candidate’s credentials. Candidates should submit a letter of application, a statement of teaching philosophy and research interests, a sample of recent teaching evaluations and a curriculum vita. Candidates should also arrange for three reference letters to be submitted, of which at least one letter should emphasize on the candidate’s teaching credentials.
