Position Description

The Department of Pediatrics Center for Pediatric Research in Obesity and Metabolism (CPROM) is currently recruiting a Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator (CRNC) to this nationally recognized research institution participating in many federally funded and industry-sponsored clinical trials. The CRNC will screen and enroll subjects for protocols in the clinical settings of the CPROM. The individual will assist the investigating physician(s)/Principal Investigator(s) (PI) with the preparation of regulatory documents, planning, subject recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and study conduct. The CRNC will train and mentor healthcare personnel about protocols and ensure protocol adherence under the direction of the PI. The CRNC will be required to travel to patient homes or satellites of Children’s Hospital for the purpose of conducting research visits. Strong communication skills and flexible hours (daylight, some evenings, weekends) will be necessary.

This position is located at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Lawrenceville. PA driver’s license is required.

BSN or bachelor’s degree required; however, candidates with a PA RN license will be considered with extensive experience. At least 3 years of experience in coordinating clinical trials necessary. Regulatory experience within the University of Pittsburgh or UPMC is a plus. Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Current PA RN licensure is required, CCRC certification preferred.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
