Position Description

The Web and Media Specialist is responsible for collaboratively developing and maintaining engaging digital content and navigation and site structure plans/page layouts that best meet the communication goals of the University Center for International Studies (UCIS) and help to develop and implement the PittGlobal brand.

Drawing upon experience with social media content creation and management, the Multimedia Specialist will implement comprehensive social media content to create brand awareness for social channels within UCIS, monitor consistency and adherence to strategy, and generate/monitor inbound traffic, working to further enhance Pitt’s overall global social media presence. The Web and Media Specialist must have experience with content management systems such as Drupal and WordPress and must have experience with Creative software such as Adobe creative suite. Experience with version control systems, such as Git, would be preferred.

Education Required Baccalaureate
Minimum Related Experience Level Required 2-3 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

2-3 years experience of professional experience working in a web development and content management role or similar function.

Social media content creation and management experience
• Solid grasp of graphic and/or web design concepts
• Thorough understanding of developing and maintaining managed content websites employing open source CMS applications like Drupal (preferred) and WordPress
• Front-end web development skills, including HTML, CSS, SASS, and version control systems (such as Git)
• Experience developing and maintaining web content for dynamic websites
• Videography/photography and video/photo editing skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
