Position Description

The Application Services Manager will manage data and website-related projects for Pitt Business. The incumbent is responsible for supervising the School’s database administrator/developer and will lead the analyzing, planning, design, project management, implementation, and evaluation of all the School’s data collection needs, reporting requirements, and development projects. The incumbent will work with the School’s internal customers, CSSD, and internal Katz IT personnel to deliver timely, accurate, adaptable data solutions to the School.

The incumbent will lead the planning, design, project management, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of the School’s websites. They will work collaboratively with CSSD, Katz IT, and Katz Communications departments on web projects, design, and maintenance. The incumbent ensures that all Pitt Business websites are up to date and accurate and is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving day to day web issues.

The incumbent is also responsible for leading the development, design, and implementation of all web-related Pitt Business internal education efforts and developing and implementing internal technical training and education materials for Pitt Business faculty, staff, and students. They supervise Katz IT Department Trainer and Katz IT Database Developer where it pertains to web applications. They also supervise contract and part-time workers when that work relates to web applications and website maintenance and may perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related area is preferred. Experience with a variety of web site platforms, architectures, development techniques, and Content Management systems are preferred.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
