Position Description

The Parent and Family Liaison will assist with the administration and coordination of all aspects of the Office of Parent & Family Resources. The incumbent will assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of the Parent Portal/Web site, serve as primary parent/family contact and respond to student and family concerns, problems, challenges, and crises as appropriate, including serving as a liaison with other University offices and campus administrators working with parents and families. They are also responsible for collaborating with divisional colleagues in the publication of all parent and family publications including a Parent and Family Handbook, Webinars, videos, and monthly Parent Newsletters. Other duties include collaborating with University departments in the design and implementation of Parent/Family Orientation held during the Fall and Spring New and Transfer Student Orientation Program and serving as the primary contact for the Panther Parents Association and regional Parent Clubs.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

A qualified candidate should have three to five years of administrative and programming experience, preferably in a University setting. A master’s degree in a related field (i.e., college student personnel, higher education administration, counseling/human development) or its equivalent is required.

Incumbent must have demonstrated ability to deliver programs and services to a diverse population; and must be able to lead in a collaborative fashion.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
