Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Surgery-Administration Office is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the Data Manager position for clinical trials. Duties involve the following:

- form design
- data collection form development
- importing collected data to a central database
- reporting and data quality assurance
- creation and dissemination of summary reports on study progress
- working with analysts to provide datasets

The incumbent must have good communication skills, telephone abilities, familiarity with electronic data transfers and web-based training, understanding of individual protocols, and proficient with all Word programs.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 5-6 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field (health information management, health information technology; clinical data management). Familiarity with medical concepts and terminology. Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
