Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh Office of Institutional Advancement is seeking an energized and qualified Events and Stewardship Coordinator.

This position is a key member of the Events and Stewardship team with responsibility for planning, implementation, logistics, and coordination of Chancellor’s Circle, Cathedral of Learning Society, Brackenridge Circle and Chancellor’s Weekend events, as well as all other donor-related events, both locally and nationally.

The incumbent manages other university-impact events, meetings, lectures, and receptions as needed. The incumbent will identify appropriate vendors and manage all contracts to ensure high-quality service on behalf of the University. This position includes developing and analyzing all invitation lists for specific donor and prospect populations and full event coordination, including post-event follow-up. A critical component of the position includes communicating and collaborating with development officers to obtain donor information as it pertains to events. The incumbent also coordinates various other stewardship activities.

Evening, weekend work, and travel are required. The incumbent will be responsible for managing, training, and leading student workers and interns. The coordinator must be proficient in all policies, procedures, and operations of Development and Alumni Relations, including the database Advance.

Baccalaureate degree. Relevant work experience of 5+ years may be substituted for education requirement.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
