Position Description

The Department of Immunology is seeking an experienced Research Specialist for discovery studies in mouse and human B lymphocyte development in health and disease using state-of-the-art flow cytometry and computational modeling tools (see Nature Communications 2018, in press). The individual will be an active collaborator in scientific research and will have primary responsibility for interrogating immune cells at the phenotypic, functional, and transcriptomic levels. Intellectual partnership is expected. Experience with animal husbandry, tissue collection, flow cytometry analysis and molecular biology (PCR, RT-QPCR) is required and advanced experience with RNAseq and ChIPseq is highly desirable. The PI is the Scientific Director of the Unified Flow Core.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology or related field. Masters or PhD preferred. Extensive/significant related experience may be considered in lieu of education. 3 years of laboratory research experience is preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications

TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Background Check For position finalists, employment with the University will require successful completion of a background check.
