Position Description

The Mechanical Engineering and Material Sciences department is seeking a qualified Research Coordinator with experience in Physical Therapy and/or Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities for the Research Coordinator will include;
• coordinate multiple studies related to assistive technology for people with disabilities
• assist with the development of clinical protocols
• conduct subject testing and recruitment
• monitor the study implementation and data management

It is also critical that the coordinator ensure compliance with the University Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures. This requires the coordinator to be knowledgeable of current regulations and remain up to date as regulations change, in order to effectively train students and communicate with staff and faculty.

For assigned research studies, the coordinator is responsible for all IRB correspondence, for conducting internal audits to monitor compliance, for coordinating between multiple study sites, for assisting in human subject testing which includes subject recruitment and secure data and records management. In addition, the Research specialist will have the opportunity to impact multiple clinical research projects involving therapeutics, medical devices, and physical therapy modalities.
