Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh Aging Institute is seeking a highly skilled and highly motivated individual who will function as a Research Scientist as well as a laboratory manager. The individual will be responsible for conceiving and organizing multiple projects, and functioning independently. The incumbent will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of PhDs and MDs involved in studying the function of DNA damage in the context of age-related diseases such as cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. The mission of the lab is to develop precision drugs by identifying new drug targets with the guidance of human genetics. This position is located at Bridgeside Point 1, 100 Technology Drive.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 5-6 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Ideally, the incumbent should have a doctoral degree, Ph.D. or MD, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Technical expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry is required. The individual must also have a fundamental knowledge of genetics, DNA damage, and aging. Those with previous publications are encouraged to apply.
