Position Description

The Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) works to meaningfully engage our expansive network of alumni and supporters, with the University of today. Seeking to involve our partners in the vibrant life of the University of Pittsburgh, it is the mission of IA to inspire our alumni, stakeholders, and friends, to help us shape the university’s future.

The Office of Institutional Advancement is currently seeking a Director, Alumni Finance and Business Operations. The incumbent will report directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations/Executive Director (AVC/ED) and work closely with both the AVC/ED and the Assistant Executive Director of External Relations in this leadership position.

Responsibilities for this position include leading, directing, and overseeing the management of the organization to fulfill major University and association priorities. The scope of the position extends to finance, personnel, and business operations of the organization. In addition, the incumbent would oversee special projects as directed by the AVC/ED.

Education Required Baccalaureate
Minimum Related Experience Level Required 5-6 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelors degree required and a minimum five years in an administrative position. Knowledge of PC software and advanced Excel and Microsoft Word knowledge required.
Background in financial management preferred. Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills and strong organizing and prioritizing skills.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
