Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute is seeking a Senior Telephone Screener. The incumbent will perform Telephone Screener duties, including answering and placing phone calls to Pitt+Me Registry Participants and individuals interested in participating in the PA Cares for Us Research Project.

In addition, the Senior Telephone Screener will perform management functions. This includes creating weekly staffing schedules, monitoring call volume data reports, monitoring other Screeners performance for quality assurance, and maintaining Screening Office policies and procedures. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, over the phone and in person.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 1-2 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Experience working in a telephone-related position with a customer service background, along with experience managing employees. Baccalaureate Degree with 1-2 years of experience outlined above OR Associates Degree with 3-4 years of experience.
Should have experience or High School Diploma with 6-7 years experience.

Proficiency with PC software (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and internal software (training provided) is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, both over the phone and in person. Must be able to analyze data and identify changes/emerging trends, have excellent computer skills, and must be able and comfortable working in multiple computer programs at the same time, while on the phone with participants. Incumbent must be detail-oriented, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines. The ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion and a professional demeanor are essential for this position.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
