Position Description

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Pittsburgh is recruiting a qualified Clinical Research Coordinator for the PA Cares for Us program. The Clinical Research Coordinator for PA Cares is responsible for providing support to the Precision Medicine Initiative, an NIH-funded initiative to enroll 1 million study participants across the US. The University of Pittsburgh is recruiting staff to support enrollment efforts around the greater Pittsburgh region and adjacent counties. The successful incumbent will provide clinical support as defined by the study protocol, including physical tests such as BP and BMI and phlebotomy to collect blood specimens. Duties may also include scheduling patient appointments and patient consent and questionnaire completion. This position will also function as the enrollment site assistant manager in supporting the Clinical Nurse Lead to assure adherence to study protocol, staff scheduling, and general oversight of enrollment site operations. The incumbent will assist participants with technology and train new staff. The incumbent will be responsible for transmitting data to industry sponsors. The ideal candidate must be a team player, organized, and learn new techniques quickly. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance will be required as a condition of employment.

Bachelor’s degree with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate degree with 4 to 5 years of relevant experience; OR High School Diploma with 6 or more years of relevant experience.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
