Position Description

The Human Genetics Division within the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Business Development Manager that will build and develop the LifeX program. This program is an initiative that will provide expertise, capital, and working space to new companies addressing the most complex challenges facing modern medicine. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and growth of LifeX’s strategy for economic partnerships through the execution of a set of projects that aim to external partners needs that promotes growth and opportunity in the regional, national, and global community.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of five years comprising of leadership, project management, entrepreneurship and/or a relate-able field within a complex organization. The qualified candidate will require a forward thinking, strategic, and ambitious mindset as well as strong leadership skills, the ability to cultivate professional relationships, facilitate collaboration among diverse groups, engage key stakeholders, effectively communicate visions and priorities, and build source funding commitments. 10-12 years of relative experience may be substituted for degree requirements.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
