Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an International Associates Program: Program Assistant. The Incumbent will take on the following duties:

• Assist with the logistics for Center events – distributing promotional material both digitally and physically; setting up before and cleaning up after events; escorting speakers around campus; and providing technical support during events.
• Under the supervision of the Associate Director, maintain and update the Asian Studies Center blog on WordPress
• Write communications to students, community members, and alumni in various formats
• Build the Access to Asia database with new entries and verify the status of existing ones.
• Support daily operations of the Asian Studies Center including filing, organizing, and maintenance of materials.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will work well in a team environment as well as take the initiative to work on projects independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Proven experience producing content and maintaining a blog as well as database management is preferred. Photographic and/or graphic design skills are a plus.

Candidates should be able to function effectively under pressure with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Flexible schedule is required including evenings and weekends to support event programming.

This position is with the Global Ties’ International Associates Program. This position is only available to undergraduate first-year or new transfer students with a CLEAR need to improve their oral English. Students within the International Associates program are NOT required to have any other on-campus employment.
