Position Details

The Department of Health Policy and Management, Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh, in Conjunction with Public Health Dynamics laboratory is seeking a junior faculty member to expand the department’s capabilities in simulation modeling, the calibration of models from observational data, and the incorporation of social behaviors into simulations. Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant quantitative field, such as Health Policy, Epidemiology, Biomedical Informatics or Biostatistics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the integration of new components into FRED, the Framework for Reproducing Epidemiologic Dynamics, a large, complex agent-based simulation model developed at the PHDL. In addition to acting as a liaison between disease-content experts and the professional programming staff! this faculty member will develop research proposal for funding, author and co-author manuscripts reporting PHDL research, and serve as a resource for external users of these software tools.
The successful candidate will have experience in C++ programming, will have strong biostatistical and epidemiological knowledge, and will have worked on or developed large simulation programming projects.
