Position Details

The Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute and the Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine seek an individual for a tenure-stream faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor of Surgery. Successful candidates will develop a full-time, independently funded research program in transplant hepatology. They will require expertise in administrative database analysis, implementation science, program evaluation, and observational study design, and a research interest in addiction and pain management. They will be expected to engage in active collaboration with both scientists and clinicians within the interactive transplant research community. In addition to developing a successful research program, teaching and mentoring of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will be expected.

Individuals applying for this position must have either an M.D. or Ph.D. degree. Salary and benefits will be highly competitive. The University of Pittsburgh offers an exciting research community and ranks among the nation’s top 10 universities in NIH funding.
