Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Financial Stewardship and Donor Relations Associate in the department of the Medical and Health Sciences Foundation. The Medical and Health Sciences Foundation (MHSF) was officially created as the fundraising entity responsible for the joint philanthropic ventures of UPMC and University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences. The MHSF acts as the central source for patients, alumni, and friends to contribute to any clinical or research endeavor at either or both UPMC and Pitt.

The incumbent will provide support for the Foundation’s stewardship and donor relations activities through implementation of new initiatives, assistance with current programs, generating reports for senior leadership, and management of electronic records. The incumbent will also be responsible for scholarship stewardship, donor acknowledgment, electronic stewardship initiatives, review of contributor recognition lists, documentation, and the maintenance of stewardship information in Advance and will assist with ongoing stewardship activities, including endowed fund reporting, fund reviews, and qualitative reporting.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s degree required and three years of development/ fundraising experience preferred. Strong written communication skills preferred. Strong computer skills with the ability to master new software applications and technologies preferred.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
