Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Radiology within the Department of Medicine is seeking a Research Specialist. This position will serve as a coordinator in human research that is geared towards understanding central nervous system disorders using PET and fMRI imaging techniques. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating research imaging protocols, including the recruitment and screening of potential research subjects under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Additional tasks include organizing HRPO, regulatory compliance, ensuring studies are conducted as outlined in the protocol, maintaining tracking and data files, and performing other research-related duties as assigned.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

- Any prior experience in a clinical research group is a plus.
- Ability to work with multiple research labs and interact with a diverse array of medical and non-medical personnel.
- Ability to recruit and perform assessment screening of subjects for research studies.
- Ability to run subjects through research procedures such as MRI and PET studies.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
