Position Description

The Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP), which oversees all neuroscience-related activities on the Pitt campus, is seeking a CNUP Assistant. The CNUP is a multidisciplinary center with members whose primary appointments are in 16 different departments. Their research interests span the breadth of neuroscience, and a number of concentration areas involve diverse groups of scientists.

The CNUP Assistant is responsible for performing a broad variety of confidential clerical tasks to support activities of an interschool graduate training program and center. The position will be responsible for coordinating outreach program activities, a summer undergraduate research program, and center seminars; will assist with graduate program courses, student recruiting, and annual retreat preparation; and will work with the center administrator to manage the day to day operations. This position requires a detail-oriented person and a team-oriented approach to tasks.

High school diploma and some college level education. At least two years of office/clerical experience. Familiarity with University procedures related to graduate programs. Expertise with Mac and PC computer formats, word processing, data base, and spread sheet packages.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
