Position Description

The Department of Medicine’s, Center for Behavioral Health and Technology within the Division of General Internal Medicine, at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Assistant to be a part of a team that will promote, support, and conduct health services research at the intersection of behavioral health and applied technology.

The incumbent is responsible for scheduling and assessing study participants’ psychiatric symptoms and the accurate collection of that data into web-based data entry systems, data quality control, and data system maintenance.

The incumbent will analyze data and assist in writing abstracts and literature reviews in support of current and potential studies. In addition, he/she will assist in developing written content for center emails, newsletters, annual reports, and center website. The incumbent will also use web analytic tools and other strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of the messages.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, meticulous documentation, and sound clinical judgment are required. Ability to work independently and with a team is required. Willingness to learn and use new technology on a daily basis is necessary. The incumbent must maintain adherence to study protocols to ensure reliability. Previous experience administering psychiatric questionnaires, previous research experience, and knowledge of psychiatric and medical terminology preferred.
