Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Facilities Management AVC Department is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Electrical Engineer. This position will conduct power system studies; maintain accurate as-builts of campus power systems; develop and execute electric metering and power systems preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and upgrade plans; perform lighting audits and power quality troubleshooting; develop, promote, and implement electrical energy conservation measures (ECMs) and obtain utility company energy efficiency rebates; design and manage in-house and job order contracting (JOC) electrical projects; develop construction cost estimates; and review project construction documents for compliance with University operation and maintenance and sustainability guidelines, standards, and goals.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 1-2 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Undergraduate electric power system lab courses. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is strongly preferred.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
