Position Details

Electrical Engineering: The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown invites applications for a non-tenureĀ­ track position at the rank of Instructor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The position is open from the Fan of 2018. This position requires extensive practical knowledge (design & debug) in the areas of analog devices and circuits, electronic devices and circuits, and experience in basic electrical engineering sciences. The candidate is required to have some industrial experience in analog and electronics devices. Experience in electrical machines and PLCs would be a plus. The department offers a broad-based B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is an undergraduate teaching college and the primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to teach the equivalent of four courses (lecture and laboratory) per term. Additional responsibilities include: professional development as a faculty member, laboratory development, academic advising and student project supervision. An essential part of the servic to the department is to participate and support ABET accreditation activities, A Master’s degree in electrical engineering (Ph.D. preferred) and a minimum of three years of relevant industrial experience are required, as well as excellent communications skills.
Professional registration and previous teaching experience are a plus. The University is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their leadership, research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
