Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh’s Orthopaedic Surgery Department is seeking a student lab assistant, who will assist with general laboratory procedures. The student will be mainly working on preparing biological tissue sample preparation and processing. A highly-qualified student may also have the opportunity to gain practical experience in several molecular biology techniques being conducted in the lab, such as real time PCR and ELISA.

Job Requirements

Looking for a Pitt student, who must be reliable and has experience performing general laboratory procedures and preparing and processing biological tissue samples. Also, please be aware that our lab is located off campus ( in Bridgeside Point II building), which is South Oakland, on Technology Drive. The PITT shuttle 40A and Bridgeside Point II shuttle are both available for commute.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Hourly Pay Rate $8.00
