Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Human Resources Administrator in the Department of Pediatrics. This position is responsible for defining and managing strategic development within the Department of Pediatrics as it relates to employee hiring, employee compensation, employee retention and employee relations. The incumbent will routinely evaluate department organizational structure and make recommendations to improve overall department performance in addition to developing and enacting new policies and procedures within the Department of Pediatrics. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining 100% compliance with regard to University and Hospital policies and practices.
The HR Administrator will act as a consultant to clinical managers (non-university) and faculty when dealing with any staff related issues and provide recommendations in accordance with University polices.
This position will manage administrative staff (Admin. I/II) and indirectly supervise 40+ research positions (research I-IV’s) within the 23 divisions of Pediatrics. This position also serves as back up to the Administrative Director.
This position is located at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Lawrenceville. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment. EEO/AA/M/F/Vets/Disabled.

Master’s preferred, Bachelors required. 5+ years in personnel or in a supervisory role preferred.
