Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking student workers. A Pitt Pathfinder is a student tour guide who helps recruit prospective undergraduate students to the University of Pittsburgh. The college visit is important and influential in the college decision process. Pitt Pathfinders are honest and fun and willing to share their love of Pitt with others. The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA) is dedicated to recruiting diverse and exceptional undergraduate students and seeks diverse and exceptional current Pitt undergraduate students to serve as Pathfinders.
Pitt Pathfinders offer three different types of tours, answer questions, and assist campus visitors. They can usually be found wearing the legendary blue and gold rugbies in Alumni Hall or walking backwards across campus. There are multiple leadership opportunities as a Pathfinder that provide additional responsibility and pay increases as you gain experience.
More than 80,000 prospective students, families, and high school counselors visit Pitt each year. OAFA offers a variety of events which requires a significant time commitment for Pathfinders. A minimum dedication of five work hours per week and several all-day Friday (Spring term only) and Saturday programs is expected of all Pathfinders, though it is possible to work more if desired.
Following review of applications, you may be asked to attend a mandatory Meet and Mingle on January 28, 2018 (multiple times are offered). If you are invited to continue in the process, group interviews will be held the week of January 29th and individual interviews will be held the week of February 5th.

PLEASE NOTE: THE APPLICATION AND INTERVIEW PROCESS ASSOCIATED WITH BECOMING A PITT PATHFINDER IS PROFESSIONAL. BUSINESS CASUAL ATTIRE IS EXPECTED FOR THE GROUP INTERVIEW AND BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE IS EXPECTED FOR THE INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEWS.
