Position Description

Our Department consists of Housing, Food Services, Panther Central, the University Stores, and Conference Services. Our team is responsible for the maintenance, operations, and assignments for all on-campus residence halls and University-owned off-campus apartments. We oversee three retail locations on campus – The University Store on Fifth, The Pitt Shop, and Maggie & Stella’s Cards & Gifts. Finally, our team provides concierge-level customer service through Panther Central, our 24/7 ID Center on campus, and our Conference Services team. Behind the scenes, our team manages a variety of different areas within the Department such as Communications, Business Systems, Financial Operations, Human Resources, and Data Analysis in order to best serve our customers.

We are seeking a qualified Sales Associate for Maggie & Stella’s Cards & Gifts. Incumbent’s primary responsibilities will include opening and/or closing the store, providing excellent customer service, cashiering, cash handling and data entry. Employee will receive, stock and merchandise product daily. Candidate is also responsible for maintaining the sales floor. Position requires standing, walking, lifting & moving heavy cartons. Participation in in-store and off-site events, Saturday, Sunday, Holiday and overtime hours will be required as needed.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 2-3 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

High school diploma combined with 2-3 year of retail and/or customer service experience. Good written/oral communications skills critical.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
