Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Director of Administration for the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. This position serves in an advanced administrative capacity and reports directly to the Dean. The incumbent is responsible for the long-term financial planning and reporting for the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.

He/she oversees the day-to-day and long-term planning responsibilities for all business, financial, compliance, and research administration activities within the School. The incumbent creates, reconciles, and monitors all operating budgets and level reports for the school; provides financial reports to division directors and feedback to the Dean; manages the annual budget upload, financial aid budgeting process, and student-faculty assignments; and oversees and coordinates all school renovations.

The incumbent is responsible for annual tuition revenue projections and monitors variances in enrollment; provides pertinent analysis and financial data collection to assist in annual strategic plan submission; assists Dean in the calculation of annual salary increases and submission; coordinates all year-end accruals and deferrals to balance all financial accounts; manages and administers the IT Works Software; oversees monthly profit and loss statements on all GSPIA related activities. This position supervises staff, monitoring all GSPIA accounts – including scholarships and financial aid, operating accounts, Executive Education accounts, endowments, gifts, and grants, sponsored research and agency funds.

The incumbent serves as the School’s Customer Information Security Plan contact person and is the highest authority level in Specialty Forms system. He/she implements financial and operating processes for a wide range of programs, ensures compliance at all levels, and manages long term projection and planning analysis. He/she serves on the Professional Development Fund (PDF) and Planning and Budgeting (PBC) Committees as well as drafts and recommends policies and procedures, as directed by the Dean.
