Position Description

-This position will provide facilities operation support for the general BST3 facilities and the Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL), as well as other facilities, as assigned. The incumbent will be responsible for properly operating all mechanical systems; performing selected preventive and corrective maintenance duties as directed; monitoring and operating building automation system hardware, software and sensors and components. This position requires a Class A City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineers License, Universal CFC Certification and a minimum of five years experience as a licensed stationary or operating engineer; a minimum of five years experience monitoring and operating building automation systems. Operator must have experience with computer based energy management systems, laboratory controls, and animal facility controls. Incumbent must be mobile around campus, be able to lift 50 pounds, crawl into confined spaces including manholes and utility tunnels as well as maneuver around small areas and be able to lift equipment and supplies. Incumbent must work shifts and join union.
