Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s UPCI Basic Research Administration seeking a Grant Administrator and Editorial Assistant. This position is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day grant editorial administration for all manuscripts, abstracts, and grants/contracts for all faculty in the Cancer Virology Program (CVP). This includes the preparation of grant submissions, proposal writing/editing, preparation of budgets, collection of documents, and the maintaining and tracking of budget process and NIH/NCI process for awards. The incumbent maintains and adheres to IRB, IACUC protocols, and all other annual renewals and regulations. This position also serves as the Coordinator of Faculty Recruitment for the CVP Program.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree plus at least 2-3 years of professional-level related experience in an environment as an administrator or assistant is required. The incumbent must possess a high-level of organizational and grant administration support skills. Familiarity with HTTP code is necessary to maintain and update various Cancer Virology Program websites.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
