Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Research Specialist. This work will be to assist an early career tenure track faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences, Sarah Hainer.

The Research Specialist will work in a lab specializing in molecular and genomic analysis of chromatin and transcription. Routine experimental approaches will be used such as molecular cloning of DNA, DNA and RNA extraction, cell line generation with CRISPR/Cas9 system, RT-qPCR, ChIP, and deep sequencing library preparation.

This position will also involve various activities related to routine laboratory maintenance such as making media and buffers, organizing laboratory jobs, and supervising undergraduate students. Previous experiments with molecular techniques is required.
