Job Summary

The BRITE program assistant will support the Program Director and Staff in the
day to day operations of this community wellness program for older adults. The
incumbent will gain exposure to a community dwelling population of active older
adults with mild changes in thinking and memory.

Job Requirements

1. Assist BRITE Program with administrative tasks such as data entry,
photocopying, filing, and other duties as determined by Program Staff.
2. Interact professionally with older adult members, some of who may have
cognitive impairments
3. Attend weekly team meetings with the program director and staff to report to
the group on progress of assigned duties.
4. Receive and return telephone calls to/from prospective program members, as
assigned.
5. Conduct intake assessments with new members (based on applicant
experience, training provided).
6. Handle sensitive data in a professional manner that complies with all confidentiality rules and regulations.
7. Communicate clearly and effectively (both verbally and in writing) with
colleagues, program director, program staff, contracted employees, and faculty
members that oversee the program.
8. Must be able to work independently while exhibiting a level of judgement that
ensures member safety and confidentiality.
9. Flexibility in scheduling work hours around course schedule, as program days
and hours may not always coincide with University breaks and holidays. (The
BRITE Program is a year round program.)

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.

Flexible around class schedule, program hours are 8 AM-6 PM, Monday through
Saturday
