Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking several Student Interns. The Coulter Transitional Research Partners II Program at Pitt funds transitional bio-medical research projects to develop improvements in healthcare, with the goal of accelerating the introduction of new technologies into patient care to address unmet clinical needs.
Coulter Student Interns will be immersed in at least 2 Coulter projects. Each project is led by a clinical leader and an academic bio-engineering faculty member and is aimed towards a successful translational outcome (start-up, license). The focus of this experience-based learning opportunity will be working with one of our Coulter Project Managers upon identifying the commercial potential of the technology of the life science/medical device project, including primary market and customer discovery and analysis, intellectual property support, regulatory and reimbursement pathways, and funding strategies and targets including strategic partners, investors, and entrepreneurs.
The Coulter Internship prepares students for careers in product management, new product development, project management, market research, competitive intelligence or legal careers in the medical device industry and life sciences.

Job Requirements

-MS, MBA, PhD, and JD Students
• 2nd or 3rd Year JD Students
• 2nd Year MBA Students
MBA/Master of Science in Engineering Joint Degree Program
• Bioengineering Professional MS in Medical Product Engineering Students
-Experience in the Life Science industry, especially the business side.
-Strong team player who can also work independently with a good degree of autonomy.
-Strong written and oral communication skills required.
-Strong organizational and execution skills, focus on detail.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
