Position Description

The mission of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) is to prepare students to make significant contributions to society through careers as managers, policy analysts and researchers in government, nonprofit organizations/NGOs and universities throughout the world. Since 1958, GSPIA has created a legacy that inspires graduates to make public institutions better, create a higher quality of government and promote social responsibility throughout the world.

The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs is currently seeking a Director of Alumni Relations and Development. The Director of Alumni Relations and Development will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a strategic plan to achieve organizational goals for development and alumni relations. The Director of Alumni Relations and Development reports to the Dean of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and will collaborate with the University’s Office of Institutional Advancement.

Minimum Related Experience Level Required 3-5 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

3-5 years of Development experience with previous experience working with Alumni and coordinating volunteers required. Previous experience in Higher Education strongly preferred. Some travel, including the possibility of international travel, will be required.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
